Nail Fungus

Infections of the toenails and fingernails are caused by a fungus, trichophyton rubrum, and are often quite difficult to treat. In the same way one gets athlete's foot, nail fungus is usually picked up when you are around damp conditions in public areas, such as locker rooms, pools, and spas. It can be spread by common use of manicure tools, and can spread to other toenails and fingernails. People are more susceptible to fungal infections if they have a weakened immune system, diabetes, or a history of athlete's foot.

NutriBiotic grapefruit seed extract’s broad-spectrum antimicrobial action works well for both treatment and prevention of nail disease. If a fungus is the offending germ, treatment for an internal yeast imbalance may be necessary.

Treatment – For maximum penetration, mix one-half ounce GSE liquid concentrate with five ounces of 80 proof grain alcohol or vodka. Apply under/on the nail with an eye dropper two or three times per day. For better results scrub gently with a soft nail brush with each application. Because this is a particularly resistance condition, several months of regular use may be necessary.

Prevention: After gardening or other activities, which might bring contact with germs, apply aforementioned solution under/on the nail. If one or two nails are already infected, apply the antifungal solution to neighboring nails two or three times per week to prevent the spread of infection.
