Caprylic Acid
Caprylic Acid (Octanoic Acid) is a natural probiotic and beneficial saturated fatty acid found in coconut oil with no known negative effects on the liver.
Protect and restore friendly intestinal flora often damaged or destroyed by antibiotics with this nutritional antifungal. The Japanese Journal of Microbiology reports from a 1961 study at Niigata University School of Medicine:
“...the fungicidal effect of Caprylic acid on Candida Albicans was exceedingly powerful. Caprylic acid exhibits the most remarkable fungiastatic and fungicidal properties of all the normal saturated fatty acids with even numbered carbon atoms studied. The fungicidal activity of Caprylic acid depends upon the concentration of the acid, the period of contact and the pH of the media.”
